Creating is an integral part of my life. Although I now create through channels of photography and graphic design, my favorite form of expression will always be traditional art. Throughout my high school career, I enrolled myself in art classes and expanded my knowledge of pastel, gouache, acrylic and oil paint, charcoal, graphite, oil pastel, watercolor, and Prismacolor. I work with acrylic paint the most, but I hope to build on my charcoal figure drawing experience in Austin when I eventually have some free time. Below are some prime examples of my work.
More examples of my art can be found in my Tumblr.
This mural is a self-portrait my high school teacher let me paint on the wall of the art studio classroom. My legacy in my hometown is the fact that four of my best friends and I are immortalized on our old studio wall.
The above four pieces are part of a twelve piece acrylic paint concentration I did my senior year for my Art 2-Dimensional Design class and AP. The theme is making everyday trash beautiful. These projects challenged my paintings skills and forced me to work on difficult subjects such as clear objects and reflection.
This piece is a Prismacolor pencil manger scene I did for Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. In the end, I was able to auction off this piece to a law firm in Houston to contribute to my college fund.
The above 6 pieces are part of a concentration of acrylic paintings I created for my junior year Studio Art class and AP. The theme revolves around the simultaneous ugliness and beauty within a city.
This is one of my favorite pastel pieces depicting warmth in winter-time.
I painted these shoes to participate in a Vans contest. The objective to create a beautiful design that compliments street culture. Although I did not win the contest, I still enjoyed the experience.
